Pen& Pixels was a design studio that had a major impact on the hip hop industry and culture. Founded by brothers Shawn and Aaron Brauch, the early 1990s, the studio was a hub for the production of album covers, flyers, posters, and other design elements for many of the most popular hip hop artists of the time. The studio's work was known for its bold and vibrant style, which was heavily influenced by graffiti and street art.
Pen& Pixels' designs helped to define the look and feel of hip hop in the 1990s, and their influence can still be seen today. Working with over 8,000 clients, producing approximately 19,180 covers during their 11-year run and to their credit and have won 60 Gold and 20 Platinum RIAA record awards.
Pen& Pixels designs featured bright colours, intricate patterns, and bold graphics, which all helped to create a unique aesthetic that was unlike anything else in hip hop at the time. This distinctive style resonated with hip hop fans and helped to popularise the genre.
